Sovereign Health Care, based in Bradford, is one of the UK's leading cash plan providers.
Established in 1873 as a Bradford-based hospital fund, Sovereign Health Care has been helping people for over 145 years.
Hospital funds first came into existence during the Victorian era, a long time before the NHS, as a way to help people access health care. Today, Sovereign Health Care is one of the UK's leading cash plan providers, and it still stands by the original principle of a hospital fund - to support people when they need to access health care.
Sovereign Health Care is proud of its long history of charitable giving, which is made possible because they are a not-for-profit business and have no shareholders. Subject to having sufficient capital funds available, they actively choose to donate between 5-10% of their annual turnover to community or charitable initiatives with a health and wellbeing focus.
Through their Community Programme, Sovereign Health Care has supported Meningitis Now for over twenty years. They are currently supporting our Rebuilding Futures Fund, which provides financial assistance for people and families affected by meningitis.
We're delighted to have supported Meningitis Now's Rebuilding Futures Fund. Our donation will allow Meningitis Now to help ensure a better future for families who've been affected by meningitis in West Yorkshire. Jan Fortune, Community Programme Co-ordinator, Sovereign Health Care
