Tigerbond tackling the Three Peaks

27th August 2024

Tigerbond, an integrated marketing agency, have been taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money in memory of their wonderful colleague and friend, Rhiannon.

Tigerbond

“This challenge requires real determination, drive and spirit: qualities which Rhiannon had in abundance.”

Colleagues from Tigerbond have already conquered Snowdon and Scafell Pike and the final climb in the series is set to take place on Saturday 31st August, when a team from their Glasgow office takes on the highest UK summit, Ben Nevis in Scotland at 1,345 metres.

They’ve even added in Helvellyn as a bonus summit after their first climb to Snowdon was called off due to poor weather conditions. Snowdon has since been ticked off though when Hannah, from their London team, along with her willing partner and dog, took it on themselves while on annual leave.

In memory of colleague and friend

It’s all in memory of their wonderful colleague and friend, Rhiannon Evans, who died from meningitis last year.

Joanna Wilson, director at Tigerbond, which has teams across the UK and Canada and specialises in PR, digital marketing, social media, website development, branding and influencer marketing, explains: “The Tigerbond team love to get involved in a challenge which encourages them to focus on wellbeing and volunteering.

“Due to the locations of our offices, we have teams who are embarking on the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon over the summer months.

“Our team wanted to do something in memory of our dear colleague and friend Rhiannon Evans, whom we tragically lost last year to meningitis.

Requires determination, drive and spirit

“We decided that this challenge would be a great fit as to complete this, it requires real determination, drive and spirit: qualities which Rhiannon had in abundance.

“Together with Rhiannon’s family, we are keen to raise as much money as we can for Meningitis Now, so if you can spare anything at all, we’d really, really appreciate it.”

The team, comprising 23 colleagues, has already raised £4,493, and is hoping to top £5,000 once they’ve climbed Ben Nevis at the end of August.

Every climb different

Joanna added: “I think every climb has been really different so far, but the mix of teams that have volunteered to take part has meant that we’ve all been able to bond during the events and feel like we’re really marking Rhiannon’s memory by sharing stories about her and hopefully raising money to help make a real difference.

“I’d like to thank the entire team for getting behind us, whether they’re taking part in the physical climbs, the virtual version, fundraising or just providing support; they’ve all been amazing.”

We’d like to thank them too. Claire Ellis, Our Senior Fundraising Officer, said: “What an amazing challenge Joanna and the rest of the team have taken on in Rhiannon’s memory and we wish them all well for their final summit at the end of the month. Please do support them if you can.

“Their efforts will help our ongoing work fighting back against meningitis, support those who have been affected by it and enable us to be here for everyone who needs us. Thank you for all you are doing.”
