Join us for the Meningitis Now Midsummer Party

20th June 2024

We are delighted to invite you to join us for a wonderful evening at the Mall Galleries in London later this month.

The event, kindly sponsored by our corporate partners Irwin Mitchell, will include a private viewing of the annual exhibition of the Society of Women Artists.

It’s an evening for everyone though, not just the art lovers amongst us. As well as hearing from people living with the impact of meningitis, there will also be the opportunity to win donated works of art, purchase one-off pieces and show your support for our ongoing work fighting back against meningitis.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a party without drinks, nibbles and entertainment – all included in the evening’s programme whilst enjoying a private viewing of more than 450 exceptional works of art.

Unique history

The Society of Women Artists (SWA) is a British art body and registered charity that has had a unique history dedicated to promoting art created by women. It was founded as the Society of Female Artists (SFA) in 1855.

This year will see their 163rd Annual Open Exhibition and they are presenting a stunning collection of works from some of the finest women artists working today in the UK and beyond, including oil paintings, watercolours, drawings, etchings, lithographs, screen prints, sculpture, ceramics, portraiture and landscapes. There’ll be a balance of large and small pieces, from the abstract and figurative, to the traditional and quirky.

So, pop the location, date and time in your diary and we look forward to seeing you there. It’s at The Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1, on Thursday 27 June, from 6pm to 8.30pm. Tickets cost just £25 each and you can buy yours here.

Grateful for generosity

Our Partnerships Manager Sarah Ramsay said: “We are extremely grateful to the Mall Galleries and especially to the Society of Women Artists for their generosity in providing Meningitis Now with the opportunity to host this wonderful evening. And also, to our long-term supporter, Irwin Mitchell, for kindly sponsoring this event. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of supporters on the evening.”

If you’re not able to join us for the evening, you can still get involved. The Society of Women Artists has kindly donated a number of pieces of art which will be auctioned on the night, with all of the funds raised being donated to Meningitis Now. If you would be interested in finding out more about these artworks and how you can make a bid please do send an email to partnerships@meningitisnow.org and we will send you more details.
