Mary and Howard lost their baby granddaughter to meningitis in 2008. To honour Maisie and make a difference to lives that have been impacted by meningitis, Mary and Howard have made the decision to leave us a gift in their will. Mary is now a Community Ambassador for us and shares her story below.

Keira W's Story
Keira became ill with meningococcal meningitis shortly after her first birthday in 2007, with a stiff neck, vomiting and a rash. Although she recovered well physically she still struggles mentally and academically with the after-effects of her illness some 17 years later. Believe & Achieve’s incredible Crystal Maze Live Experience
Our Believe & Achieve event in March brought together fourteen young adults from across the country who are connected by their experience of meningitis. They had the opportunity to step inside the set of a real-life TV game show for a wild adventure at The Crystal Maze Live Experience in Manchester.

Arthur K's Story
Jasmine and Billy’s 2-year-old son Arthur had what they thought was a bad sickness bug. It turned out to be pneumococcal meningitis which has left him with lifelong after-effects. Now Jasmine, from Darlington, is raising awareness and encouraging everyone to learn the symptoms, as she tells us here.

Ailla T’s story
When Ailla from Northants was a baby she became ill and her mum, Kim suspected this was something more serious than the colic that was initially suggested. In hospital Ailla was diagnosed with viral meningitis and made a good recovery. Now a teenager, Ailla is fundraising for Meningitis Now.
